I just had an idea for a game we could play here, and it won't result in unending threads with hundreds of comments! Here come the rules:
1. One person will start a topic on this board, called list: something. Something should be a type of thing, for example countries, rock groups from the 80s, fast food chains, african animals, flavours, whatever.
2. Players will post types of this thing (for example, if the topic was list: colours, players may post red, green, blue, etc). Players may only post one thing per comment, and they may not post two comments in a row. Players must read previous comments, to make sure the thing they're posting is unique (nobody else already thought of it); any player posting a duplicate entry will be disqualified.
3. There will be two categories of winner for each list: endurance and quantity. The quantity winner will be the player who has managed to post the most things in the list. The endurance winner will be the player who posted the last valid entry to the list.
4. Winners will be decided at a time indicated by the person who started the topic. This indication must be given in the first message of the topic; for example, "This is a list including all colors; I will figure out the winners in 2 days. Here we go: blue.". After that time, the person who started the topic should post a message letting everyone know who won in both categories. All topics must remain open for at least 1 day.
5. Any question about the validity of an entry is to be decided by the person who started the topic. This person may or may not insist on correct spelling, etc. She is also responsible for determining things like if Briton and England are two seperat entries in a list of countries.
When all is said and done, we'll wind up with two winners, hopefully several vaguely amused people, and a big long list of stuff on one particular subject that everyone can use as they like. What does everyone think? Too hard? Too easy? Too much work? Does anyone see any problems I didn't think of when writing the rules? If it looks interesting to you, go ahead and start a game of your own. I just figured I'd post these for discussion, to see if anyone is interested, and to see if there's anything I didn't think of.

well, by my reckoning, O&AFan567 is out because he repeated monkey, which had already been mentioned in post 8 by fastfinge. Bill AKA blind-bandit is also out because he was second on the list with dog. Again fastfinge mentioned dog first. Now I'll carry on with cat. O bum, that's already been said too. Smack me. I'm out.

Okay, sorry. I didn't mean to start a new category, if I wasn't supposed to, but I just read the rules again, and it doesn't say in there that one of the winners is supposed to start the new topic, but if this is the way it's going to be, then I apologize. the rules should've been more clear on that.
Also, if it's going to be a rule that one of the winners is supposed to post the next category, then, which winner will it be? The endurance winner? Or the quantity winner?
